Voltas revs
up for Hyderabad Intl Airport
It’s
to be a 100,000 sq m passenger terminal 20kms from Hyderabad,
with capacity to handle 7 million passengers annually
– upscalable to as many as 50 million in the future.
Voltas has been awarded the sub-contracts for major
HVAC and MEP requirements, from contractors China State
Construction Engineering of Hongkong.
As befits an international facility,
Voltas’ inernational electro-mechanical business
will handle the MEP projects, which include Electrical,
Plumbing, Firefighting, Fire Detection and Suppression,
Building Management, Visual Docking Guidance and Access
Control / Security Systems. The HVAC works, including
air conditioning the passenger terminal building and
air control tower, will be undertaken by the AC&R
business.
A prized and prestigious job,
and symbolic of an MEP thrust in India which is truly
taking off.
