Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

The quality of the air we breathe is increasingly a cause for concern. Various air pollutants are encountered in modern commercial and public spaces. These include volatile organic compounds, microbes and fungi, assorted odours, and accumulated CO2 from human respiration. Slowly but surely, they do harm to people’s health and well-being.

Reducing pollution through ozone injection

 Traditionally, fresh air is used in HVAC systems to dilute and disperse the pollutants present, and to restrict the build-up of CO2. Treated fresh air is a somewhat expensive option in terms of both capital and operating costs.

Injected ozone is a superior option to oxidize chemical pollutants into more eco-friendly and less harmful compounds, while 'cleaning up' fungi, spores, odors and smoke. This is because of its very powerful oxidizing capabilities, and its tendency to quickly revert to a stable and harmless state (as oxygen) if left unused.

Voltas Engineered Ozone Systems (VEOS)

The systems are designed to promote controlled ozone injection for improving indoor air quality.

VEOS has been installed in over one hundred projects India-wide. Customized VEOS solutions make use of a contact chamber with a high charge of ozone, which completely eliminates bacteria, odours and chemical contaminants.

A significant added benefit is in energy-saving, if the VEOS and HVAC are integrated in their design and installation.
