Voltas MD Ashok Soni among the top 15 rankers in India's Most 'Value'able CEOs survey conducted by Business World
Voltas MD Ashok Soni has been placed 13th in the value ranking based on various performance parameters of the company, and 3rd in the rankings by sector (Industrials) based on compensation per point.
Two other Tata companies' CEOs who also figure in the top 15 value ranking are Bhaskar Bhat - Titan Industries (7th), and Prasad R. Menon - Tata Power Co. (12th).
The rankings were based on parameters such as Sales Performance, Profit Performance, Stock Price Performance and Market Capitalisation, for a two year period - 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2008.
In addition, compensation for the CEO was captured, and a compensation per point score calculated to arrive at a composite measure of CEO compensation. The company whose CEO receives the lowest compensation per point is the one that gives shareholders the most bang for their buck: in other words, the most 'value'able CEO.
Top Industry Honours for Voltas' Electrical & Mechanical Division (EMD) at UAE
Voltas' overseas MEP business achieved the crowning glory of professional recognition at the highest levels, at the MEP Middle East Awards 2008.
The award is one of the most prestigious in the Middle East, and its honours are highly coveted. Voltas' Electrical & Mechanical Division (EMD), UAE held its own against the most daunting competition to walk away with two key awards : for 'MEP Project Manager of the Year' and 'Health & Safety'.
Awarded to D Sampath, Director Projects, by unanimous vote of the judging panel, the 'MEP Project Manager of the Year' rewards outstanding individual talent and commitment, as seen in actual project outcomes achieved through extraordinary skills and efforts.
The 'Health and Safety' award is conferred on the firm that has made special efforts to improve health and safety standards on projects through focused initiatives, such as in training, methodology employed to reduce risk and accident at site, or manpower utilization.
Other participants included major MEP players such as ETA, Thermo, BK Gulf, Drake & Scull, Transgulf and Mapco; as well as major MEP Consultants including Atkins, Hyder and other notables.
It's yet another global trophy for Voltas...to add to the many landmark projects that bear the Company's stamp and signature.
