Voltas partners vocational training with Bosco Boys
A new chapter began at Bosco Boys’ Training Institute with the launch of the ‘Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Programme for the Disadvantaged' in 2008.
The programme was inaugurated by Anil Gole, VP-HR and Head of Corporate Sustainability, who said: 'Commitment to developing a strong, self-reliant community has long been part of the Tata business process, which we at Voltas embrace. We regard it as fundamental to Corporate Sustainability, which we are committed to promoting. True to the Tata tradition, participation in social development is a whole-hearted preoccupation at Voltas, one that enriches the corporation itself.' Expressing his wish for a long and fruitful partnership with Bosco Boys, he spoke of Voltasites' pride at having yet another channel for bringing benefit to those who needed it most.
A similar Voltas programme has been operational for the past 6 years at the Joseph Cardign Technical school, Dadar, Mumbai. Over 180 underprivileged children have benefited from it so far. |
