Delhi Metro Rail picks Voltas for its Phase III expansion
Voltas has been awarded the Rs 250-crore contract for environmental control and tunnel ventilation of Delhi's Mass Rapid Transport System (Phase III), which had been the focus of intense competition among numerous well-known firms from India and overseas.
The project will cover eight underground stations and connecting tunnels, totalling 11.27 kms in length, and requiring 42 chillers of more than 10500 TR combined tonnage. There will also be 34 large AHUs, 360 fan coil units, 84 distribution boards, and about 2400 kms of cabling, among other components and ancillaries.
The scope of work extends to electricals, SCADA and BMS, as well as a 3-year maintenance contract to follow. Voltas will provide end-to-end services and solutions from design validation all the way to testing & commissioning, within a 122-week timeframe.
