From Tata Steel, Voltas' largest ever water management order : A new high - water mark
Voltas has received an LOI from Tata Steel at Kalinganagar (Odisha) for the 1st phase of the water system for their steel melt shop. Valued at tens of millions of USD, this is Voltas’ largest domestic order ever in water management, and among the largest for Voltas as a whole.
The project is a complete turnkey job which spans engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, including a demonstration of the system. Voltas will work in technical partnership with M/s Hitachi Plant Technologies, who will be responsible for basic engineering and performance of the entire system. The scope of work will encompass cooling towers, thickeners, pumps, filters, piping, civil, structural, electrical, automation and other aspects.
Among the challenges ahead is a tight timeline. With just 22 months for completion of the first phase, the finished project will certainly be a showcase for Voltas’ comprehensive strengths in industrial water treatment.
